I re-designed, write for, and manage the VolunteerMatch blog, Volunteering is CSR. The blog is designed to help corporate social responsibility professionals effectively incorporate volunteerism into their programs.
During the spring of 2014, I interned for the nonprofit marketing service Claxon. I created weekly blog posts advising nonprofits on how to get the most out of their words. I started writing for Claxon again in December 2016. Find all my posts for Claxon here.
I have written numerous blog posts about volunteerism, volunteer engagement, and corporate social responsibility for VolunteerMatch. You can find a selection of them republished on LinkedIn.
Along with a small team, I led the creation of a new VolunteerMatch Business Solutions website. Cleaner design, more concise and engaging copy..... check out the before and after!
I've published monthly newsletters for VolunteerMatch's various audiences. Here is an example of GoodPeople, a monthly e-newsletter for volunteers.
For my capstone project at Seattle University, I conducted research to find the top 1000 words used by nonprofits on their most accessible communication tool: their website. I organized the results of this research into an online tool to help nonprofits find words that are unique, specific, and easy to understand. Find this tool here. You can also read my full research paper here.
I learned a lot about effectively pitching a cause in my Strategic Marketing for Nonprofits course at Seattle University. I summarized what I learned in this instructional video. I hope it can make networking a little less intimidating and a lot more effective.
